GTZ and CTVS - Moving Forward, Side by Side
Late last year in China, CTVS began a new cooperation with a very important client: “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit” (German Society for Technical Cooperation, or "GTZ").
GTZ mainly operates on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. They have over 25 years of experience in technical cooperation throughout China, continuously tailoring its portfolio to support China's transition processes.
CTVS undertook the production of three separate films for GTZ: a 45 minute corporate video, a 45 minute documentary on environmental protection in China, and a six minute "behind the scenes" program on a series of events entitled “Germany and China - Moving Forward, Side by Side”. This six minute project took place October of 2009 in China's central province of Hubei in the city of Wuhan. Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder also participated in this film.
CTVS had two camera teams and an anchorwoman - cast especially for the job - on location. Over the course of 10 days the CTVS crew produced several hundred interviews on the subject of renewable energy that were displayed live on a giant network of LED screens. These interviews presented at the events were later on integrated into the documentary.
All three of the films were produced in both German and Chinese. Collectively, and by themselves, these films could be categorized without exaggeration as elaborate productions. In total, for three weeks, CTVS filmed at more than 10 locations all over Mainland China, followed by a very work intensive, and time-limited, post-production period. As always, in order to support their client's efforts, CTVS successfully provided an around the clock service.
