60th years of PR China – CTVS sends live-pictures around the world
China, especially Beijing, were in the focus of the world’s attention on October 1st, as the Middle Kingdom held celebrations to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Visuals of President Hu Jintao inspecting China's military wearing a high-collared Mao suit and riding in a black convertible Red Flag limousine passing by tens of thousands of soldiers were beamed to all corners of the globe.
Approximately 200,000 soldiers and civilians gathered in Tiananmen Square for the National Day military parade. CTVS captured this historic moment for dozens of TV-stations around the world.
With several multi-camera live-position setups for the EBU (European Broadcast Union) our crew worked prior to dawn until long after dusk to obtain the best pictures of this monumental event. CTVS also accommodated several international television stations with ENG crews. Media from all over the world reported live from Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. In perfect position, directly in front of the famous Gate of Heavenly Peace with it’s giant portrait of Chairman Mao Zedong, CTVS shot the whole event and provided its clients with superb service and professionalism.
