OLYMPIC WRAP

We just have to thank the amazing crews, clients and co-workers who came together for a brilliant Olympics here in Beijing. Sleepless nights and action-packed days really made it an experience of a lifetime.
Our personal crew of over 65 people flew in from all over the world to help produce seamless coverage and provide top-quality production services for more than 15 international TV stations and many corporate clients. Together we produced hundreds of program hours and live broadcasts, ensuring the global community didn’t miss a beat.
Two of our SNG trucks and the OB van were put to the ultimate test in and around Beijing for the coverage, four TV studios were set up and we procured five unique live positions that were utilised extensively. More than 200 Arri lampheads, 37 cameras, 7 edit suites and over 1000 tapes were used and as Olympic events took part in cities outside Beijing, so did we - CTVS crews toured to Qingdao, Tianjin and Hong Kong.

| SCHMIDT MEDIA SUPPORT
One of CTVS’ major commitments during the Games was to Schmidt Media – the official media partner of German House. We were their exclusive technical service provider, with full teams, edit suites and SNGs supplied.
Schmidt Media became the inaugural user of our 5-camera OB van for its programs and multi-camera productions. On-call demands from our German clients saw daily feeds and live stand-ups organised at a moments notice. A four camera studio was constructed inside the Kempinski Hotel for talk shows produced by Schmidt Media during the month of August. The show’s signal was immediately received by our OB van outside, allowing us to mix the program and feed it out on the spot.
This was great news for corporate clients Schenker, Bayer, Zurich Insurance, CMA and Kempinski, as they were relying on Schmidt to deliver the latest Olympic information to their headquarters and play-out locations. We thoroughly enjoyed our cooperation with Schmidt Media and are looking forward to more exciting future projects together (including the 2010 World Cup and the Winter Olympics in Vancouver). |

| EBU SUPPORT
Due to our extensive knowledge of Beijing, CTVS procured some of the most sought after live positions in the city for the Games. We provided the biggest rights holder, Eurovision, with live positions, staff and equipment.
We had a fully equipped two camera live position facing the Olympic Green and a one camera live position at Tiananmen Square. The positions were operating 24/7 and were directly connected fibre optically to the impressive MCR of EBU OPS, where all European networks were routed to and from. We also supplied many EBU members with SNG trucks, equipment and staff (ARD, ZDF, TVE, NTV Plus to name a few). |

| NEW EQUIPMENT BOLSTERS OLYMPIC COVERAGE
With the Beijing Olympics literally around the corner, a truck-load of new equipment has conveniently arrived in the nick of time.
To make sure none of the action is missed, new ARRI lighting, including Arrisun 200 (Pocket Par HMI kits) and a whole lot of tungsten lights are waiting to be put to use. Our studio equipment has been given a boost with Vinten studio pedestals Osprey Elite and Hawk. Widescreen triax camera chains with lenses are in stock and a Panther Evolution Dolly with the much sought after Panther Precision Tracks has arrived.
We also have a very flash new compact 5-camera OB-Van (OBV3) equipped with everything you’d expect and more - including five 16:9/4:3 LDK triax cameras and separate video and audio compartments. The recent arrivals not only enhance our Olympic studio operations, but also enable complicated or complex requests to be met. All can be rented-out individually. |

| 2008 BEIJING OLYMPICS - the countdown begins ...
Securing a birds-eye view for the Games' one year countdown celebrations in Tian'an Men Square, we provided live feeds for both ARD and ORF. A second exclusive live position was set-up for the EBU, broadcasting directly from the Square itself. Our prime locations assured BBC, Televisa and Finish TV viewers (amongst others) an insider's perspective on all of the action. |

| New SNG van arrives safely
A Boeing 747 cargo plane recently crossed the globe and touched down in Beijing from Rotterdam carrying CTVS' brand-spanking new 6 tonne SNG van. Fully equipped, the Mercedes Benz Sprinter houses; 2 fixed digital TRIAX camera chains with wireless IFB & 300m long cables, an IMX editing suite with play back for Betacam sp, sx and Digibeta, and a 1.8m ERA KU band antenna and digital antenna for return signal. Yes, we are excited. |
